Safari Supper – Saturday 7th July

If you enjoy a shared meal and good company within walking distance of your home, this is the event for you! The plan is simple – all participants enjoy an aperitif and canapés at the start of the evening, and coffee and mints at the end. In between, everyone has a different course at a different venue with different people. Each pair of participants is asked to prepare and serve one course only for up to eight people (or canapés/coffee for everyone). The cost of tickets is £14 for those serving dessert or starter and £7 for those serving a main course. Further information, booking forms and tickets are available from Anne Coulson and Barbara Tomes. This year the proceeds will be for St Peter's Church. Please book by June 23rd.

Diamond Jubilee

There will be lots going on!

Saturday June 2nd: from 10am to 5pm the church will be open with many flower arrangements created to celebrate the Jubilee. Tea and coffee will be available all day. We hope that the bellringers will be ringing a quarter peal on the church bells during the day. Also during the afternoon there will be a display of Royal Memorabilia in the Village Hall and a treasure trail around the village.

Sunday 3rd June: Service of Thanksgiving in St Peter's Church at 4pm, arranged jointly by the Baptists and St Peter's churches.

Monday 4th June: Barton's Big Village Celebrations. The full programme will be advertised around the village. The church will be running a Tombola and a Children's Bran Tub at this event, with proceeds to church funds.

Men’s Breakfast

The next Men's Breakfast will be on Wednesdat 23rd May, at the new Pavilion on the Leys, from 8am onwards. Share a full English breakfast and have the opportunity to talk to our notable guest.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Lent Lunch which, with Gift Aid, raised £322 for WaterAid. We are continuing to support WaterAid through Lent by filling Jars of Change to become jars of water. We ask you to join in, to give up something and o donate what you save by filling a special Jar. Details at the back of the church.

Thank you also to everyone who gave jumble and helped at the Jumble Sale, which made just under £390 for church funds.

Easter Sunday collection

Our Easter Sunday collection this year will be given to the Malawi Christian Association (Macs), to support the building of a church in Magomera.

At 6pm on Saturday April 14th in Haslingfield Church, José Hopkins is giving a 'Sixty Glorious Years' organ concert to raise money for Magomera and also to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. No tickets, but donations are invited at the concert.

Churchyard clear-up

This will take place on Easter Saturday, April 7th, from 9.30am. If you are able to help clear up teh churchyard ready for the summer season we will be pleased to see you. Please bring some tools, rake, shears etc.
